Defeat Corona

The Women for Women project was created as an initiative to help women – single mothers and their children who found themselves in a difficult life situation. Both years of the project were implemented with the aim of supporting families whose children were at risk of being taken away from their homes due to financial hardship and loss of housing. The first year of the project was created during the Covid-19 pandemic. As part of the project, an auction of brooches was held, which were created according to the original design for the Defeat corona statue. These brooches became a symbol of solidarity and belonging. They were worn by famous Slovak women – ambassadors, who supported specific stories of single women. In the second year of the project, 12 Slovak artists participated in the assistance. Each of them donated one of their works to the e-auction. The project was carried out in cooperation with the Slovak National Gallery. The entire proceeds from the auction were donated to specific mothers and children, under the appeal of “the Smile as a Gift” charity organization on the www.ludialudom.sk.
